We begin with a conversation.

Language support

Be heard. Be understood.

Tell us the language you feel most comfortable speaking. We’ll discuss the right connection and available support.

Your language matters

Start with the words
that feel like yours.

Ask us about Somali, Spanish, Oromo, Amharic or English. Please confirm language availability and service fit when you contact us.

You can say the name of your language at the beginning of the call.

Make the first conversation easier.

Start by naming the language you prefer. Tell us the general kind of support you need, the city or county and a safe way to contact you. If a particular time works better, say so. We can discuss the next step and confirm what language support is available.

Speaking a language, reading a form and understanding an unfamiliar agency process are different needs. Tell us whether you need help with a conversation, written information or both. We will clarify what can be arranged before you decide to proceed.

You do not need to email personal documents to ask these questions. Keep medical, financial and immigration records out of a general inquiry. If information is needed later, we first discuss consent and an appropriate way to share it.

For a case manager or referral partner

Ask the household which language they prefer and how they want to take part in the referral. Do not infer language, literacy or preferences from a name or country of origin. With permission, include the preferred language and a useful time for the first conversation.

Confirm who will make contact and explain the next step to the household. Ask the receiving organization how it arranges interpretation and whether written information can be provided in the needed language. Check the arrangement before an appointment so the household knows what to expect.

When a family member or another trusted person is involved, clarify the participant's wishes, privacy and the agency's requirements. Ask about qualified interpretation for sensitive conversations. Avoid assuming that a relative can explain clinical, legal or eligibility decisions.

Use our referral information for the initial conversation and case management overview to understand the proposed coordination role.

Language support at other agencies

Ask the agency handling an application how it provides language assistance. A document translation and an interpreted appointment may follow different processes. Confirm what is needed before paying for a translation yourself.

HOME Line's Minnesota tenant hotline publishes Somali, Spanish and Hmong contact options. Minnesota 211 offers information and referrals in multiple languages. These are independent organizations; ApexRise does not control their services or availability.

Our resource guides include the responsible agencies and their source pages. Use those current routes for program questions. An ApexRise conversation can explore available navigation support, but it does not replace an agency's assessment or eligibility decision.

Common questions

Can I read the website in another language?
The website is currently in English. We will publish translations only after native-language review. The language names above connect to our phone number, not translated pages.
Can you guarantee a speaker is available when I call?
Please ask about current availability. We will discuss whether appropriate language support can be arranged for your situation before services begin.
What if I need another language?
Tell us which language you need and whether you also need help with reading or writing. We will discuss available options without promising staffing that has not been confirmed.
Can a referral partner help arrange the conversation?
Yes. With the household's permission, a partner can ask about service fit, preferred language, a suitable contact time and the next step. Do not send sensitive records with a general inquiry.
